three-phase AC motors may be

Washdown or stainless-steel
enclosures may be required for
food handling applications,
and flameproof (also called
explosion proof) motors may be
needed in environments where
flammable gases may be
present. In other industrial
applications, TEFC (totally
enclosed, fan cooled) or ODP
(open drip-proof) enclosures
may be sufficient.
The USA and other
jurisdictions have efficiency
standards requirements for AC
motors, and some regulations
may be application-specific.
High efficiency, high-quality
motors also have the
advantages of running cooler,
lasting longer, and reducing
energy costs, compared to
older motor designs. Motors
consume about 65% of all
energy usage in industrial
applications. Accessories
such as brakes, blowers, soft
start or variable frequency
drives, may be added as

is unknown, please include as
much information as possible
about your application and
specifications. If the motor
is to be a replacement, it is
helpful to send a picture of
the name plate of the existing
motor, or as much information
from the name plate as possible.
